Christmas Eve Service!

Today we had just a morning service which was really nice. Amanda sang today, she sang "Welcom to our world" by Chris Rice. She always does a beautiful job. Tonight we were invited over to the DeRoache home (one of our teens) and we all had a wonderful time. We really enjoy getting to know others. The boys can't wait till tomorrow and they are having a tough time going to bed. Ya'll have a wonderful Christmas and we will post pictures tomorrow.

I Wonder What I Got for Christmas???

After lunch we gathered around the Christmas tree to look at all our presents. The boys shook their presents and tried to guess what they were. They have been pretty good about not trying to open their presents until Christmas Day. Of course they ask all the time if it's Christmas day yet.

Then they wanted to try their luck at being photographers themselves. I posted the best ones they took. Some of them were of me headless :). Zeke's is of Bryson and Bryson's is of me and Zeke.

Preschool Christmas Party

Today was Bryson's preschool Christmas party. He and his friend Justin sat together and had a great time. They sang songs and of course had lots of goodies. Needless to say they were all loaded up on sugar by the time it was done. Instead of bringing gifts for eachother, they brought either a stuffed animal or board book to wrap and give to a local hospital for the children there. They all had a wonderful time.

Our First Hot Chocolate!

To get into the spirit of Christmas Amanda decided to make some homemade hot cocoa. It was a little hot for the boys so we put some ice it it to cool it down. They didn't really like sipping it very much but the straws were a big hit. At the end they ended up blowing bubbles in it which was probably the most fun for them :).

Winter Formal

Tonight was a night of splendor and beauty as we took the teenagers to an elegant dinner. We all had a great time as girls took time getting ready during the day and then we all met at the church and drove over together. Everyone looked great in their tuxes, suits and formal dresses. Even some of our parents came with as they too dressed up. We all had a wonderful time as we have been looking forward to this! We ate at Claudettes in Guyton GA and then afterwards, a bunch of people went over to Bridget's home to watch a movie. It was WONDERFUL and I have to say we sure do have a bunch of good lookin teens :)

Busy Again!

This week sure has been filled with lots and lots of activities. On Monday night the staff was invited to the Senior Saints Christmas Party at a local place in town. We all had a good time (that is our Pastor's wife sitting next to Amanda in the picture) On Tuesday night there was just a ladies Christmas Party which Amanda said went really well and then last night was church. The boys sure do love playing air hockey. The teens always let them play and sometimes they beat the teens.

FINALLY OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

We finally got the boys (and Amanda) out of the home today as again the boys were really sick for the past 4 days. We sure have been battling a lot with sickness in our home, but we are now just more out and about down here and we are prone to catch more sickness. There is a lot of sickness going on down here...the doctors told us it is crazy sick!

I am glad that they are feeling better today though! We went to the "Huddle House" which is like a Waffle House (Nick's favorite) and then we got groceries. We always go to the thrift shop and so today the boys played with the toys while Amanda and I shopped. Well, it has been a crazy week, but things are looking up.

RBTYG at Wal-Mart

Every Saturday night is Youth Group from 5-8pm. Last year after Christmas, we bought a bunch of tape and this year we attached an advertisement for our big Christmas Contata/Drama and we passed them out at Wal-Mart. It is funny because when you tell people you are giving them something for free, they look at you like you are crazy. Oh well, maybe we are, but we sure got to witness to people and we pray that we will see some come to our church for a visit. The teens did a great job and afterwards we took them out for pizza. They had a blast and we really enjoy our time with these teens. (By the way, RBTYG stands for Rincon Baptist Temple Youth Group.)

Yesterday the boys and Amanda went and finished their Christmas shopping for me. The boys keep telling me that they got me presents, but they won't tell me what they are. Mommy told them to keep it a secret. But I bet if if I gave the boys a treat, I could get out of them what they got me. (lol) But I am not that type of Daddy, so I will just wait till Christmas. While they were out in Savannah, they got to play in the mall at the park they have there for kids. They love playing on those things!

It is such a blessing having our two boys and we thank God for them everyday. Even though sometimes they are a pain, we just remember that at one time we were pains to our parents too! They are getting to the point in their age where they are telling Amanda and I that they love us without us telling them to tell us...haha! But it is a joy to hear their innocent voices tell their parents that they love them. I will brag about them until the day I go to Heaven, and even there I will thank God for the privelage He gave us to raise such wonderful boys.

This week we have done some Christmas shopping and is that always trying or what! Other than that, I just wanted to let everyone know we are doing well and I should have some pictures up here pretty soon. Take Care everyone!

What a Week!

Sorry we haven't updated here lately, but it sure has been one of those weeks. The boys are now finally getting better from their sickness. The doctor called on Saturday to tell us that Bryson had 'Strep' so of course we had to take Zeke in yesterday. They both are on antibiotics now and so now they are getting better.

Last night Amanda and I got to go to our church Christmas Party. We had a great time with friends of ours. (Brian and Jennifer King and Keith and Jennifer Bouie) We are thankful that God has given us some great friends down here. Well, we should be keeping up now with things so I hope you check in later!

Pray for us!

The boys have been sick all week. Mainly Bryson, but now Zeke is starting to get it too. Of course it gets passed on to the rest of us so please pray for our family. We don't like seeing our boys sick like this. So today, I (dad) wanted to get them something to help them feel better. So you can see their expression when I came home with remote control cars...they are still playing with them as I am typing and they are having a blast. At least it takes their mind off not feeling well. We like seeing them happy.

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!

Today we set up the Christmas Tree and decorated around the house. I went to put our lights outside, and of course none of the lights worked, so this year I decided to get new lights (since we haven't bought any for a long time.) Tonight we decorated the tree and listened to our new Christmas Music Album. Oh ya, I forgot to mention that we also had SUGAR COOKIES!!!!!!!!!

Children's Choir

On Sunday night, we dismiss the little children during our service and they go back and learn songs. They are called the "Half-Notes!" Tonight they sang a couple of songs and they all did a great job. It was Youth Night at church and so the entire service was done by our teens. Church is awesome and we were so blessed today!

New Found Talent

This is Bryson showing us his new found talent. Guess what he is wanting for Christmas?

Thanksgiving Trip

Hello everyone! We are back from our Thanksgiving trip down to Winter Haven Florida. We had a great time with John and Molly Voss and thier friends and family. It is always good to have great friends like John and Molly. We spent time hanging out and whenever we get together, we always play games. Catch Phrase is our favorite. Well, back to home life, tomorrow we will be getting the house ready for Christmas. I am sure we will post pictures tomorrow. See ya then!

PIRATE? I don't think so!

Bryson had a Thanksgiving Party at school today and he made this pilgrim hat, but of course nothing but Pirates and Power Rangers is on his mind, so I asked him today what he made at school and of course he told me he was a Pirate. ARRRRRRRRR Bryson is funny.

We took the boys to the park today! We had a good time, but it started to get a little chilly so we came back home. The boys are such fun to be with and they are so happy "most" of the time. They like to belive that they are "Mr. Incredible" (Zeke) and "Power Rangers" (Bryson). They go around chasing the bad guys...today I (Nick) was the bad guy so they got me.

Church

Every Sunday morning we eat breakfast at RBT fellowship hall. Today we had sausage and biscuts. Thanks to Jeff and July Mitchell. They were very good of course. Church was awesome today as it always is. The choir did excellent on "Great is Our God." Pastor preached a message that spoke to us and the fellowship was wonderful. I wish we had church everyday!

Christmas Parade

Today we went to the Christmas Parade in town and this is something we weren't used to seeing up North. We love it down here and we are having a blast. They boys enjoyed the parade and of course got lots of candy. Now they are all hyped up for the day. Well, the grinch won't steel our Christmas this year.
